Default Hey guys, new to the forum

Hi, my name's Dave. Got my first XJ about 6 weeks ago and have fallen prey to the addiction. I have an 01 sport 4x4: 4.0 auto, 231, 8.25 rear. Good shape except for the suspension which is worn out. Stock so far, saving for a lift (should be in the spring), recovery etc. loving the community feel of the XJ family! :wave

Welding just requires practice and time. The more welds, the better you get. You'll pick up on it. Check out the fab threads. There are a lot of cool things made in there that requires some welding.

Thanks for the warning, from what I've read most if the failed heads are from 99-late 00 engines. mine seems to be out of the batches that might have lucked out and missed it (crossed fingers)! I've gone through my cooling system pretty carefully, new thermostat, rad cap, new fluid, no leaks. So far the temps are rock steady at ~195 only creep up to about 205 before the e-fan kicks on, even in traffic jams. I've been looking at adding a puller fan, anyone have one? Does it help enough on the trail to keep temps down? Thanks
