Default Hey

Thought I get this out the way and introduce myself. My real name is Jose and live in Puerto Rico. I am a soon to be newbie to the world of jeep. I am currently in the market for a Cherokee and I am totally excited to own one . The reason i want one is pretty much the same as everyone that buys one i think and that is off roading. It's real big here on the island and we have plenty of places to do it. I have never done it but it looks like a hell of a lot of fun . I look forward to meeting everyone and any helpful advice when buying a cherokee for a total newb would be greatly appreciated.

Whats the mileage on it?
Just have a good look at it..make sure there is no rust..take it for a spin, get it up to speed and make sure there are no abnormal wobbles, etc.
Look for leaks, make sure its not over heating etc.

The 88 isnt a bad year..but it is a renix..closed cooling which can be a headache but I owned an 88 as my first one and loved it. Once I got the overheating issues straight it was very reliable.

Welcome to the forum, when you go wheelin you should bring some friends and another vehicle to help pull you out when you get stuck or when you break something. Tow trucks cost a bunch when your off paved or designated roads not to mention the embarrassment it brings. Have good tow points so when you do get pulled out you don't break things. I could go on an on about this but I think I'll let the rest of the forum chime in.
Happy jeepin!
