Hello from Texas
Hi guys and gals, just joined the forum (obviously), and I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself. My name is Travis, and I live in central Texas. I'm 28, and a mechanic at a GM dealer. I have a wife, 2 kids and a mortgage.
I grew up on Fords, turn wrenches on Chevrolet's and I am about to aquire my first Jeep -- a 1996 Grand Cherokee Laredo. My brother in law drove it down here at Christmas time from Dallas, the last half of the trip only in 2nd gear. Instead of fixing it, or trading it in, he gave me the opportunity to buy it for $500. I agreed, since I have been looking for a CHEAP project vehicle.
I've lowered a lot of vehicles, but never got into off roading, so I'm hoping to learn a lot here.

yeah, i've always liked sports trucks. every vehicle I've owned has been 2wd, and I have a hard time leaving them stock, so I lowered them.
my current daily driver is a 07 chevy classic crew cab. rides good until there is a seam in the pavement. Its maybe one inch lower in the back now, than in the picture. I'm honestly over it, and plan on changing it back to stock whenever I can find a 5-8hr chunk of time in the shop.

I have an XJ - but I used to be in the lowrider scene too! I had a 92 S10 that was static dropped 4/5" with some 17" KMC Stealths. It was a fun ride in high school. Hope to get that truck back someday. I loaned it to my younger brother and he still has it to this day..
