Default Hello from Tennessee

Hey fellow Jeepers. Im living in Chattanooga and I just recently bought a 96 2 door for $1000 with some tax money and love it already lol. I come from the tuner scene and I had a 1986 Corolla . Unfortunately I wrecked it while acting like an a**hole, so I decided to try my hand at wheeling. My dad has a 95 YJ so Im not a complete noob to Jeeps. I have always liked the look of Cherokees and jumped on it quick because the body is awesome and it was a 2 door . Now I got the Jeep bug...... My Jeep is only a 2wd and sadly it has the 2.5l....oh well. The plan is to swap in a 4.0 and maybe later convert it to a 4wd if I can collect the parts I need. My Xj has the 8.25 rear and lsd and 4.10 gears if i did my research correctly. This is an awesome forum with plenty of info and friendly people. I will definately be around on here alot. BTW my name is Hector. I will post a picture as soon as I figure out how lol..

Im going to cut those side step bars off and weld them closer to the body for more clearance.

First plan is to either rebuild this 2.5L or swap out for a 4.0l with ax15 tranny. I have found plenty of donors but will a 97+ 4.0 drop easily into a 96?

It didnt come with one , which sucks . A visit to the bone yard can easily solve that problem though. This Jeep has no power options.
