Hello from south Florida
Hi I'm Keith and I have a bone stock yellow 2001 Cherokee that I'm just starting to work on I am a complete beginner to 4x4's but have been a gear head and a mechanic since 1978
.
I have all the typical newbie questions that I am sure have been covered many times over and yes I will search for the answers but I will also list them here just incase someone would be kind enough to answer them
1. Why is a sje a good thing?
2. What lift kit and tire size would you suggest for a guy that dosent want to have to upgrade later but uses his jeep 90% on the street
3. Define long arm and short arm and there they are best used
.
Thanks that's all for now
Keith

1. A slip yoke eliminator is used to help get rid of drive line vibration when a vehicle has been lifted beyond a certain point. Some say it's not needed.
2. A 3" lift and 33" tires and some minor trimming is usually enough for the dd and occasional trail rig.
3. When going past a 3-4" lift factory or short arms are in a sharper vertical angle that pulls the front axle rearward and tilts it causing odd steering knuckle angles. A drop bracket can be used to alleviate this.
Long arms eliminate the problems listed above on lifted vehicles.
