Hello From Michigan
I posted my first message in another area, sorry was kind of in a rush for answers on a possible buy.
I used to be a Wrangler guy back before three kids and the wife insisting on having a seat in the vehicle
I will most likely be a Cherokee guy tomorrow morning. The guy won't budge on the price and around MI everything over 5 years old is a rust bucket so this is looking like a decent deal.
Anyhow, off to search for "STUFF" for my new toy. Just the basics as I am limited on funds. Where to start? It runs great and is completely stock, so suggestions on a place to start having fun with mods would be appreciated. It will be a daily driver for me and used to haul a small boat.
Anyhow, great to be here!

It is the 4.0 inline six with an auto tranny. The boat is small, a little 14' Mirrocraft, used to tow it with my Escort Wagon. I pick up the Cherokee tomorrow, $2500. I hear that is a little steep but it is rust free and solid running but the front seats are wore hard and ripped in spots.

Yeah I went and got it today. I did some speed searching and made the move. The Jeep is a 1990, with 205600 on the odometer. and about 52,000 on the Jasper Motor and tranny. It has the 4.0 I6 and is strong as heck. I found a second spot of surface rust on it when I got it home, nothing major and will get right on that. It is all stock, for now. The only real problem with it so far are the seats in the front. The drivers side is ripped and looks like hell, the passenger side is not that great either, but comfy. I'll take some pics tomorrow and post them if the weather gets any better.
First plan is to doe something simple and cheap, that will be with items I already have, 2x6's and some plywood to build a little cargo area floor in the back. I have thinking something with a couple hinges and a lock box.
More to follow and I do appreciate your suggestions and help.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone, and again the advise.
I was going through the last 3 years of receipts on this vehicle, here is what I came up with.
REPLACE WITH NEW:
Engine, injectors, plugs, wires, cap, belts all fluids, clamps, hoses, battery, transmission, tires, water pump, power steering return, radiator and brakes.
This was all done within the last 52,000 miles, give or take a hundred miles.
I am now poor and unemployed, but I need to either go to smaller tires, cut out the inner fender area a bit or lift this thing. It has 235/75/15's on it and they rub. I see they call for a narrower tire, which I kind of like for the snow anyhow, but a little lift sounds very intriguing. In the past the Cj's I owned were all pretty much stock, I put money into making them pretty and into better sound systems. Being a Marine at the time, I always thought the 4cyl was near perfect and did not need anything to make it better, except a fording kit.
I bought a huge can filter for the oil as suggested and also decided that I am going to synthetic oil. I will probably kerosene the oil today, drain and change it. I bought an extra quart for that filter and then I realized, well the filter is upside down , I don't need to fill it!
Now I just need to find the radiator cap, foam the engine so I can see what is going on and I will be good to go. Test drove it to the tune of about 300 miles yesterday, good times.
