hello everybody
Hello everybody, I joined awhile ago and have enjoyed reading and looking at all the builds in the jeep builds section. I haven't gotten around to posting anything so Ill start by introducing myself. My real name is Chris, I'm 19 and I'm from upstate N.Y. I do not own a jeep but am currently watching craigslist for one. Anything I should really look for when going to buy a Cherokee? Hopefully soon I can update this with some pictures.

Look for little to no rust, 4.0l, Preferably the 231 transfer case, and the 8.25 rear axle. Other than that just look for the normal used car items like suspension/brakes/tires/shifts/runs. Buy a stock on if you can find one at a good price. If you buy a lifted one then there will be alot more things you are going to want to pay close attention to.

Welcome to CF. In addition to the above items, make sure it doesn't overheat, and check all electrical items to make sure they work. Overheating and electrical issues are sometimes a problem with Jeeps. Better to ovoid them than try and fix later.

Thank you all for the information. I will sure to keep it all in mind while on my quest to find a jeep. I'm still looking hoping to have something soon but I want to get a decent jeep and not just the first one that comes along. I plan on making this a project once I get it so I don't mind a little rust but I don't want it to be taking over.
