Hello everyone,
I have never owned a Cherokee before, but I have owned a Wrangler in the past. I am in the process of looking for a Cherokee Sport to be our new dog hauler and camping vehicle. I came to the site hoping to learn a little more about the Cherokee and somethings to look out for when buying one. I have found a couple local and might be looking at one tonight.

 

Prefered Cherokees are 97+, minimal millage, and look out for rust! That would be your most basic things to look for.

Thanks for the welcomes. I am looking at a '91 tomorrow. It is a 2D Sport 4x4 4.0 5spd w/ a little less than 200k miles. I am really just needing it for short trips and such. I have worked on and built Mustangs so I am able to do most of my own work. With parts being so plentiful I figure if anything breaks it should not be hard to find parts for.

Looks nice 91 Limited Owner...your pics let me see what the front of mine "should" look like.

Here is a couple pics of the 1991 I bought yesterday for a whole $750. Runs great, stops steers like crap so I have some work to do before she is truely road worthy.
