Welcome to our addiction...

The RE 3.5" lift is highly recommended everywhere I have read and plan on getting it myself. For the minor wheeling it sounds like you plan on doing it will work great. Mine is my daily driver and minor wheeler, so I dont desire to go any higher. Depending on who/where you plan on playing in the mud you might want to look at a larger lift and 35"s. 31"s dont do so well following behind a full sized truck with 37+" tires on it. That sure is a clean XJ though.... 3.5" lift and 31"s would look just fine.

It's a great setup, period. AND, it's a good place to start for a n00b, but leaves you with room to grow when you want to put your big boy pants on. I'm planning on bolting on 2 more inches (shackles and spacers) in the future and going to 33s. At 3.5" and your Jeep having the 97+ driveline, you will probably need an SYE.

Thanks all. Seems like the RE 3.5 is a good place for me to start then. I dont have any friends with Jeep so I wont have to worry so much about following a big truck This is also my daily driver, so want to keep it road worthy.

Whats the difference between RE super flex and super ride? Just like it sounds? One better for road, other for trail?

The difference is the Superflex kit comes with LCA's with a flex joint and quick discos for the sway bar....The super ride kit comes with standard non flex lca's and just an extended sway bar end link..

Ah I see. Thanks for clearing that up. So my next question, whats a good shock for the RE 3.5" kit?

Monotube, twintube, ome or dt3000?
