future XJ owner signing in
Hey all, just making my first official post. After much decision over what vehicle to get (4runner, CJ, YJ, XJ.....XJ), then doing research on what forum would be the best/funnest/friendliest (others, CF......CF), here I am.
So anywho......I'm not an XJ owner yet, but there are a few on Craigslist that I'm eyeballing. One has a mild 3" lift but has been totally gone through mechanically and is CLEAN, this is choice #one.
Choice #2 is a bit older but has a bigger lift and is a cool 2 door. The last one has a 6.5" long arm lift, rear locking diff, dana 44 (i think) rear, etc etc, but I'm sure it's been beat all to hell and may need some work, and with 4.88 gears I'm sure it sucks fuel.
This will be my daily driver 95% of the time with some mild off road/mud/snow fun the other 5%, which is why choice 1 is #1.
If by chance those fall through choice 4 is to buy a stocker and build it myself.
Whichever happens, expect to find me here once or 100 times asking stupid newbi questions.
( I like this smiley face thingy)

Welcome to CF. It's usually cheaper to buy a built Jeep than to build it, but you take a chance on it being beat to death. Be careful in your shopping and good luck.

The only question I have right now is, is there a FAQ section here for us new guys? I have general lift questions and questions on different year XJ's. I just don't want to be the millionth one to ask the same questions.
I've looked and the only FAQ I find is for general board rules and questions.

Welcome to CF! I decided I'd rather have a stocker, due to being afraid of getting a lifted one beat to death. So I say go stock! Can't wait to see what you decide though!
