First time poster and want a Jeep
Hey all, just here to introduce myself....great forum very informative!
Some background: Born and raised in Brooklyn (and currently living) I'm a graduate student and I've never had my own car before. My older siblings (I'm the youngest) usually leased cars and let me use them for various things such as school, shopping etc., which was nice of them so I never had the chance nor the need to buy a car. Well that has all changed now, they have their own lives and I'm starting mine so I need a car! On top of that my mother just had a stroke and my father can't work as much so I do not want to rely on my family and burden them further than they already are.....plus I'm too old now to be mommy and daddy mooching.
On to the Jeep:
I have a few thousand dollars saved up and I was just wondering if buying a Jeep Cherokee is a good first choice. I've loved the Cherokee since forever and have always wanted one. The problem is A) Some models/years are way too price for me and B) The affordable ones have problems or TONS of mileage. So that brings me to this forum, perhaps the members here can share some wisdom in terms of the Cherokee when buying one so I know I'm not getting screwed. I'm not mechanically sound so fixer-uppers are kind of not my thing.
Thanks!
*waits to be told don't buy a Jeep and go away*
