Hey all,
Just bought my first Jeep. Got a 2001 Cherokee Sport 4.0 V6 4x4 with the manual 5 speed transmission. It's the 5 speed 4x4 that sold me on it. I got it for a steal also.
It's got the usual rocker panel rust, I'll have to replace those. The guy I bought it off of was telling me about how I could buy pipe and weld it on after I remove the rocker and that it'll give the frame some more support and look a lot better. Thinking about doing that. The only other spot that has some rust is the tailgate or trunk door. The rest of it is solid.
The interior is absolutely amazing. As soon as I sat down inside the truck and saw how nice it was, I was sold. It's literally perfect, no stains, no burns, nothing. Looks exactly how it did the day it was sold.
It's a one owner vehicle and it's got 160,000 miles. The guy who owned it before me bought it at his brother's dealership and has had everything maintained and fixed at the dealership. The MOPAR oil filter tells me all that I need to know.
I'm going tomorrow (Monday) to transfer everything into my name. I'm excited, can't wait to get my baby home and give her a fresh coat of wax.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone on here. I'm planning on doing some upgrades to it and looking forward to getting some input on upgrades from you guys.
For example, I'm strapped for cash now after purchasing the vehicle, but I'm hoping you guys know some super cheap or free upgrades that I could do.

Welcome, and congrats on the Jeep purchase.
Just so you're aware, that MOPAR oil filter can also be purchased at Walmart. I would go ahead and give it a once-through or take it to a reputable mechanic and have him give it a once through.
Definitely give all the fluids a change, and start inspecting the joints and bearings for wear. Never trust what a seller says unless you know and trust them on a personal level.
