Default Complete and total newb here

Hey everybody. I'm a total newb to Jeeps. I just finished building my mustang up and I'm looking for a winter project, so I decided to build my step-dad's old Cherokee up so I'd have a lake truck/mudder.

So I've got a 1991 Jeep Cherokee 4x4 and another Cherokee 4x2 to use for parts. Both have inline 6 motors. I'm really looking forward to learning about these trucks and building a pretty sharp one. I hope y'all don't bust my chops too bad, cuz I'm gonna ask some stupid questions. I will use the search tool though as much as I can.

Welcome!

Just don't ask about a body lift or removing a cat and you will be good!

No one is a year older I believe. I've had them parked at my buddy's place for a couple of years. I just got the bug to mess with them. The 4x4 had a knock in the motor so we bought the other one as a parts jeep because we got a great deal on it, then my step-dad went into a home, so they've been parked ever since. I'm not even sure of the year on the parts jeep. I just know it runs the same motor and the bodies are identical, so I can do some swapping out and get a good, clean, strong running jeep out of the two.

I'm thinking I want a mild lift, maybe around 3-4". Not really sure where to go besides that. Hence the reason I joined the forum. I wanted to get to know some jeep folks and get some ideas of what to do to it.

Here's some pics of the mustang. It's a 2007 GT convertible running a Vortech supercharger putting out 485 rwhp and 429 ftlbs torque.
