bout time for me to join i guess, lol
hello everyone,
new member & proud owner of 2 XJ's
for about 6 years i was wrapped up into drag racing ( still am a little bit, i still have the mustang haha) then about 5 months ago my grandmother gave me her old jeep cuz she got another jeep. i pretty much fell in love with bodystyle, and because of this jeep i also fell in love with the off-roading/camping lifestyle. this jeep has been in our family for 14 years; a lot of memories & road trips in that thing. i wouldnt sell it for the world.
my first one is a '88 2wd 2dr 4.0L auto, dark green.
it's got 270k miles, and it leaks everything..from everywhere.. but it still runs like a champ. the interior is ridiculously immaculate and theres not a spec of rust anywhere. everything's original except paint & radio.
i originally planned to use the jeep for a daily driver and the occasional weekend camping trip. well, my first night out with it, it took me & my buddies about all of 5 minutes to get the thing stuck up to the axles in deep *** sugar sand haha. after spending a couple hours digging it out and pulling it out with a quad, i decided i needed another jeep. so 2 weeks later i went out and found one.
my 2nd one is a '94 4wd 4dr 4.0L auto, olive green.
154k miles, 3" lift, 31" tires, o/r front & rear bumpers with drings. needs a few minor things here & there but it's solid and a hell of a lotta fun.

Welcome to CF, & to our world of off roading!
I'm loving the color on your rig, but if I could add my 2 cents. You should trim the front fenders where they hang down Hella low by the front bumper!

thanks for the welcome everyone!
*edit;
well since im here anyway; i do have a question.
the other day i went mudding, most of the stuff was axle-deep or so, a few times i got up the doors and got stuck, had my buddy pull me out no big deal. afterwards, when i left, for about 15 miles, the entire way to the carwash, the trans was stuck in 3rd. 2w/4w didnt matter, the shifter wouldnt downshift it. made it to the carwash and sprayed the living hell out of the undercarriage for a good hour, now its running fine. any idea as to what that was about?
also, i just noticed the steering gearbox has started leaking from the seal where the pitman arm attaches to. i found the seal kit and i've got the tools/puller to remove the pitman arm, can i just pop the arm off and replace that seal without removing the gearbox?
thanks for the welcome everyone!

If I remember correctly you can, & if you found a place to buy that seal I'd say ya! Might be less of a headache to just do a durango steering box swap from the junkyards, vs fixing up a weaker box! I think there is a wright up on here for that. Check the XJ wright-up section!
