Been snooping around here for a while last jeep was a TJ, but I just bought my 4th jeep, third XJ plan on keeping this one for a long time. Anyway its a 1990 XJ 4.0 AW4 trans, manual locks and windows, dana 30 and 35. I paid $400 for the jeep because the previous owner was quoted 2k to put a new tranny in it.

My plans for the jeep are;
First rebuild trans or replace with junkyard auto or swap in manual
Pull motor rebuild as a stroker
front axle HP Dana 44 with ARB hydro assist 5.13's already has lockouts
Rear axle shaved GM 14 bolt with locker???, disc brakes and 5.13's
Full cage partial being an exo like many on this forum
Long arm up front attached to custom trans mount and skid plate
four link out back with rear axle pushed back 2-4 inches
rocker replacement with sliders or boatside still debating
york air compressor still trying to figure out how to cram it in there
Raceline beadlocks so I can balance them backspacing to keep tires close to body wrapped in 35-12.50's or 36's probably irocs or tsl's
custom bumpers with front winch tire mounted on swing on rear
gas tank skid
possibly tub the rear depending on how close I can keep the tires to the body with full width axles.


The goal is dependablity and to keep it completely road worthy to the extent I can pack up and drive cross country if I want or drive on a daily basis. The only ammenities I will have will be a stereo and AC. The family loves wheeling which is why I went with a XJ for the space. I'm sure there are a few things I have missed but that is the biggest part of it.
