Default Back in an XJ

Hey guys, figured I would introduce myself. I used to be pretty active on Jeep Forum back in the day but seems like CF is better nowadays. I've had a 4.0 in various jeeps starting with my first car in 2005 (1995 XJ 4x4 AX15)

Now I have a 2004 4.0 WJ for daily use and I just picked up a 1999 XJ that will be built. Build thread will be coming but not for a few months. Excited to be back in an XJ!

Funny enough, I found the WJ really didn't cut it, So glad I kept the XJ's.

Welcome back

I have to be honest, I love my WJ. I don't want to mod it extensively though. It's mostly stock and handles DD duty very well. I do need to find the time to do a water pump on it though

Figured I would add a "before" pic to this thread. That light bar whistles like crazy it will be the first thing to go!

Lots of love out there for WJ's, a lot from real XJ fans, which I found very persuasive but, for me, it just didn't match the hyperbole.

The very 1st mod. on an WJ which nobody ever mentions, must be to do something to protect that oh so vulnerable radiator, particularly on a 4.7.

As for that light bar, all my XJ's lost their roof bars over the 1st weekend in my ownership - to reduce noise, & improve fuel consumption.

Light bar removed last night! Now just have to fill in the holes left by the mounts.

First, fixing a P0171 lean code and a sticky caliper. It was sitting for about 2 years before I got it.
