I have wanted a Cherokee since my mother's boyfriend showed up in one in the late 1980's. Always wanted one. Craziesstory, working for a used car dealer about 19 years old, owner buys one with 485,000+ miles for $75. Bought it to go hinting, go anywhere with a dead deer in the back. 5 colors, beat to hell, no oil cap, tinfoil rubber banded over power steering pump (bone dry still worked), took it straight to emissions passed with flying coloraand comments. Got back to the lot and the owner asked me to do an oil change before he went up hunting (Colorado). Removed the plug and nothing. Nothing. Grabbed my ratchet and extension, unbolted the pan....and found a hard ball of oil about the size of a racquetball. Passed emissions. Wasn't overheating. W. T. F. Made me want one just a little more. Had an Eagle SX/4 a 2 door hatchback dropped on a CJ-7 with an 8 inch lift, a 4 liter and a 5 speed manual. Me in my 20's I'd Fthat thing up. Fast forward 20 years and I found a beautiful Grand Cherokee 240,000+ miles meticulously maintained by senior citizens. Farm people. White with the Grey Laredo trim. Red and Grey pinstriping. Straight as an arrow perfectly maintained. Only sold because someone took the old lady's keys. Trying to do it justice. Going to double those miles. It's my new baby. Will probably be buried in it.$2,600 have been told I stole it a few times already.
