Default 2010 Brake Pads?

New boy here...daughter just picked up 2010 Grand Cherokee w/el terrible squeal from brakes. Dealer hands her tech bulletin about metallic pad squeal normal...So I wanna replace pads w/non metallics. Although I do my F150, I haven't done on Jeep and would like to know routine/tips for doing these particular pads...First, should I ask this in another section? Second, I searched this procedure and nothing popped up. Third, I've had great service out out of PosiQuiet Pads from RotorPros in Cali on my F150...any better suggestions for my daughter's jeep?

Thanks for whatever help you can offer...

If the pads are squealing because they are really worn down definitely replace them, but if they still have life left in them then they make a lubricant you can apply to stop the squeal at any auto parts store.

What is the name of said product I am a manager of a unnamed auto parts store a big chain one at that and there are tons of pad break-in lubricants and lubricants for the guide pins and the back of the pad where it sits in the caliper, but there is nothing for stopping old pads from squeaking except changing them :-)

I bet if you pop the pads off they are probably glazed over from someone riding the hell out of the brakes make sure that your kid isn't driving two footed!!!

Here is the awful stuff someone was talking about to quite down the brakes, but if you read it says to not pally to pads or brake shoes and it is for use on rotors when doing a brake job...

Not to quite down already noisy brakes. I think you should just change the brakes to a set you trust like your using on you F-150 just a thought

Its a 4-year old jeep and probably some worn out on her brake pad so definitely go for replacement. Welcome!
