Default 2001 XJ in Maine

This saga begins with me buying a house and litterally 2 weeks later having my Beautiful 92 Mercedes 420 SEL lose oil pressure and die a greusome death. Leading me on the search for a vehicle better suited to carting supplies around for all the stuff you need to do with a new home while on a "the bank just gave me a bunch of money they aren't giving you any more" budget.

I picked up an 01 Jeep XJ navy blue and have been driving it for 2 years now mostly untouched aside from a mild roof basket. I have done a few trails with it never stuck though did find a few areas I couldn't go further on the height or tires I had on it. This year finnaly my tires need replacing and enough of my tax refund is unspoken for that I shall start my build.

The plan is a general Zombie Response/Bug Out Vehicle/Back woods trail hunting rig on a budget.

My budget dictates I stick to the best bang for the buck I can find. I have been reading and lurking for around a year. My plans so far:

Zone offroad 3" AAL kit
TC drop kit
Zone offroad Steering stabilizer
GT Radial Adventureo M/T 31" 10.5 15
Nates 4x4 Short front bumper no hoop just D-ring tabs and hitch
Nates 4x4 Standard rear bumper D-ring tabs and hitch
CB radio between sunvisors
4' firestick mounted by driverside tail light
Headlight wire harness upgrade
Roll on Bedliner entire exterior and eventually entire floor pan
LED lights front sides and rear
Rock sliders home made or purchase depending on deals I can find
48" farm jack mounted under rear seat
Hitch mounted winch
relocate spare to roof rack and outfit both rear windows with gun and gear racks.

Those are my plans so far, Lift is getting installed tomorrow, tires will be here wednesday and bumpers are on order. The ball is rolling and I will be starting a build thread in the next few days.

Planning on 2 bolts up through the floor spaced to fit through the jack and secured with wing nuts. thinking i may need to "clearance" the floor down a bit to allow room for the jack between the seat and floor. should need to take the jacks base plate off to fit. Saw it on some ones build thread on here wish I could remember who's to give credit to the real innovator.

As I've said I've been lurking for awhile now... lol

Well its not overly nice... not yet I did start my build though and we will hopefully be making a few large strides out of the gate then smaller projects along the way. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/bu...ehicle-206798/ the lift is in so far tires later this week and then bumpers once Nate 4x4 gets around to them.
