Default 1990 xj 2door

New here and new to Jeep, this is my 25th vehicle I've owned I believe, so can do just about anything that will be needed to this Jeep by myself. My xj is a 1990 2 door 2wd 5 speed, 265k miles, all original. I traded this for my DD 1988 firebird 305. After opening a can of whoop *** on a 98 Lincoln Town car then stomping an 08 eclipse, then tied with a 2015 fusion Ecoboost, I became a fan of the 4.0 AMC straight six. I know these aren't mustangs Camaro or challengers I'm beating but I'm coming from s10 blazers and my firebird and multiple v8 powered vehicles, and I gotta say this is a quick little Jeep. I will say I got thrown off my high horse when an 04 grand Cherokee 4.7 stomped me lol. But that's ok it was a jeep lol. my xj has a few odd things I've noticed, a GM steering column and a GM glovebox button, and AMC and Chrysler badged parts lol(I know Chrysler bought AMC in 87 so that explains some of it) but overall has been a reliable good vehicle. The only reason I got this vehicle is because it was exactly what I was looking for, 2 door 5 speed. I was really looking for a 1st gen s10 blazer(owned 3, and 1 2nd gen s10 blazer) and that finding a 5 speed is not that easy. This Jeep popped up with 2 doors and 5 speed so she was soon on her way home with me. Only this I can really say is I do miss the tailgate that the blazer has, very useful feature over the single lift up unit on the Jeep. Will try to post pics soon.

Even though Chrysler purchased American Motors in 1987, the two had a relationship prior to that. Afterward, AMC became the Jeep/Eagle division. Some of the pats used on the Cherokees, Wagoneers, and Comanches were under contract with the manufacturers that produced them with AMC, which Chrysler now assumed. Other parts started being produced for Chrysler after the sale, even though the parts were still the same- and at that, many dealerships still used the AMC-labeled parts if said parts were in stock. It wasn't until the 1991 model year that contracts with parts manufacturers had expired allowing Chrysler to make a few changes and/or upgrades.
