Did you check under the dash? There is a clear box with gears in it. If that isn't there then the po removed it. There are 5 reasons the light won't trip I can think of. 1 you don't have a timer any more. 2 the cable was removed from the box. 3 the bulb burned out. 4 the wire was cut to the box. 5 you have other electrical problems on this circuit. The light will not trip if the o2 sensor goes bad actually you will not get any light when any sensor on a renix goes bad. These are pre obd vehicles i.e. you can't scan them with a scan tool, you can't buy one and Jeep doesn't have them, it is called DRB II. No one has this system anymore. If you know you have put 80k+ miles on the vehicle it is recommended you change the o2 sensor per the owners manual. Actually it is more like 82750 but 80k is a safe estimate.

okie dokies then. i'll check it morrow if it aint raining. would you also know why the rear wiper dont work? stript it down and all that jazz. jiggled the motor and the wiper moved too, as if it was seized up. also, the PO told me the ABS is goin out. k then, is the ABS a big black saucer thing thats mounted behind the brake thing? if so, i aint got it.

Back spacing can be increased (wheels pushed out further from center of vehicle) by either buying new wheels or adding a spacer. The spacer bolts onto the lugs on the hub it then has it's own lugs on the spacer which your wheel bolts to. also when you get any flex it will rub the wheel wells if you do not trim them (do a search for this). If you have any other questions just ask.

the big black saucer thing you are talking about I am guessing is your Brake Booster, it should have a hose going to the intake manifold, it is powered by vacuum which is why there is a hose. if you do not have the booster then you shouldn't have brakes at all as it sits between the brake pedel and the Brake Master Cylinder (the thing that has the brake fluid in it). if the ABS is not working well you may need new wheel sensors. the sensors read a tone ring usually on the actual axle shaft, sometimes on the break rotor, as the shaft turns the sensor reads the hi and low points on the tone ring, which it measures the speed of the wheel. when the wheels are not matched up when brake is applied i.e. one stops turning, both front stop turning and the rears are, the ABS system will kick on allowing the brakes to pulse so they do not lock up. this allows you to still have control of the vehicle while applying the most amount of breaking force. if you lock up the front wheels you will not be able to turn, so with ABS you can still control the vehicle. I don't know where the sensors are actually located on the XJ as I don't have ABS, I also have not looked into what the ABS system is made up of (the different parts).

I got a set off of ebay, however you run a risk with quality and fitment being correct with them from ebay. Spidertrax sells them also you can check them out to see what they look like http://www.spidertrax.com/1987-06-Wr...category=10000

Not much with 31's it is usually recommended to have a 3" lift for 31's. 235's are about the biggest you would want to go if your wheeling it with no lift. That size tire will still fit in the well when the suspension compresses. Also with 235's you would not need spacers or different wheels to change the back spacing.
