'00 XJ Sport in Pittsburgh
Just picked up my first Jeep last week. It's a stock black 2000 Cherokee Sport, 4.0, 4dr, automatic with the "ecco" wheels and only 88k miles. It is already proving to be a huge improvement over my old Nissan Pickup as a daily driver/ occasional off-road toy, although I do have some work to do. I've been trying to do some research on this site leading up to my purchase and I'm sure I'll be looking for plenty more help.
Here are the very near future plans:
- new oil pump, which I'm hoping to find a how to or at least some tips for
- Bed liner on bumpers and from the from body moldings down. I already tried removing the side moldings so that I could just paint from the body line down but a lot of the clear coat is chipped away so they'll have to go back on and get painted, too.
- I already have a set of polished American Racing Baja 2's that I want to put a set of 31's on. Hopefully I can find a somewhat aggressive pattern that is still friendly with my 30 miles of daily commuting while being effective for occasional off-road duty. I'm a little worried about how they'll fit with the bigger tires because they have 5" bs, but the price was right.
- 3" lift. I'm leaning towards Rough Country or Rusty's based on price and what I've read here. I'm still not sure if I'm going to wait a little longer to save up for a full leaf kit or go with an AAL since my stock leafs are still decent due to the lower mileage and get it done much sooner
In case you were wondering about the name, my nice weather toy was an '89 Mustang LX and now a vista blue '07 Mustang GT California Special.

Here's a picture of my Mustang, and you already know what a stock XJ looks like so I won't bore you with that
