Default New Jeep owner in a very short time.

Hey everyone,

I will introduce myself briefly to y'all.
My name is Pieterjan, 20 years old and i live in Keerbergen, Belgium. (so please excuse me if i write some mistakes )

I want to buy a 97' Jeep Grand Cherokee Orvis edition 5.2 V8.
This GC has 210.000 km's (that's about 130.000 miles)
Two things that are a bit disturbing is 1. rust at the doorstep and 2. a "zooming" noise that comes from the back of the car.
The GC also has an L.P.G installation. (Because otherwise it just isn't affordable. )

Newly replaced are the brakediscs and the brake pads.

All these thing together, do you guys think this is a good car?
Isn't the mileage to high? What can the "zooming" thing be?

Thanks in advance,

PJ

Hey Pieterjan, Dan here. My '97 has 188,000+ miles on it. I had to have the rear axle repaired because the pinion bearings were bad. It was making a howling noise that started at about 30 MPH, and went away if you let off the throttle, but came back with reapplication of throttle pressure.
It uses two sets of front brake pads for every one set of rear pads used. Cheap pads will wear faster and not perform as well.
The rust can be repaired and should be taken care of ASAP.
I don't have any information on the LPG dual fuel versions.
I don't take my Jeep off road. I would deffinitely buy it again if I had to do it over.
Good luck on your decision.
