WTT - Trade 98 Overhead console harness for a 2000/2001 harness
I am putting a overhead console in my 2000 XJ. Pulled it all from a 98 and willing to trade harnesses if you have a 2000/2001 in the next few weeks before I start the swap.
Thanks

I am trying to just find a wiring diagram. From what I understand, there are 1 or two signal wires, temp sensor signal, a couple of grounds, and your light wiring. Should be easy to do wire swaps as soon as I'm sure what goes where. I am trying to do a 2000.

I did this a month or so ago. I installed a 98 I think it was console in my 01 XJ. Just pull the pins out of the plug.
First find the wiring diagrams I used a jeep forum thread for that.
Label them so your not confused if you get side tracked and come back to a mess.
Then on each plug both the OHC harness and the current harness for the dome light the white plugs can be pulled apart. There is a small peice that gets pushed into the connector on the side. Once that is removed you can pull all the pins out from both plugs. Then just reinstall the pins in the plug that was on your Jeep.
There are 2 grounds if I remember right and they have to go in the right place or nothing will work so when you test it check that first if it doesn't work. I got it right on the first try.
Good luck.
