I'm not doubting the quality whatsoever when I ask this, but how well does it hold up on the trail? Would it rip out the taillight if it got caught on a tree limb or rock, or would it sacrifice itself to save the light?

 

I have sold probably over 100 at this point and have had maybe 2 failures due to extreme circumstances. I myself have had it pinned up against several trees with little deflection. The tailgate hatch actually acts as a brace when a lot of pressure is applied. No sure about long term abuse, but just be aware of trees and wheel smart! Hope that answered your question

I have a couple passenger side mounts ready for shipment! First come first serve....

 

just got mine. plan on installing it this weekend... how does it hold up to being painted? i think i'm going to paint mine black

 

I painted mine red with rustoleum I think, held up great with a couple coats. Mine wore around the mount holes for the taillight and antenna just because I'm.constantly removing it to test fit the others before I send them out
