I would love a red instrument set for a 98, I have ones from super bright leds but I'm questioning the quality because the one in my transfer case indicator failed already. I think red looks great.
(It's a deeper red in person)

Yeah, I use a modified version similar to the lights super bright leds sell. It reduces resistance and by extension, the heat produced.
If you're interested, check the post link below to see the type of light I recommend and how I modified them. I don't have red and if I do start stocking red, it won't be anything soon, unfortunately.
When I first did this I used superbrightLEDs. My transmission light went out after a few weeks and the dash lights started going out after a couple months. That's a big part of why I started doing this - 1st for myself, then for others. It seemed crazy to spend around $100 to replace my interior & instrument lights with LEDs that failed after a few months. I figured it could be done better and cheaper. My experience was three years ago, so things may have changed.

Original idea(probably would have worked with the incandescent but too much drop with the LED strips even in parallel...5v) Click for full res
Ended up moving the grounds to the left side of the tab the other light hooks across and jumpering the cut section back together.
Placement. Thought about putting another in the center or moving them further down the sides. Seems OK where they are. Click for full res
Not bad for $3 worth of LED strips from China...now lets see how long they last...lol Click for full res
Edit: oh and the LED strips only draw 100mA so I've only got ~400mA total. way less current and much more light!
Looks good. Could probably skip the LED in the lamp enclosure all together. It looks a little blinding in the photo. I like where you placed the LED strips.
I ordered a sample of small LED bars (eagle eyes) in the image below - about a half inch square and up to 6 inches long. Basically, they're square metal tube with holes punched for LEDs and the ends capped. Supposedly they're sealed well, but not guaranteed waterproof. My idea is to mount magnets or adhesive to them and stick them where you put your under-hood strips, assuming there is room.
I also ordered some of their small exterior lights to test. The manufacturer claims IP68 and quality electrical parts, so they shouldn't have issues with moisture or premature failure.
My plan is to install the flush mount lights in my rear bumper. The rest are just for testing. Humm, I wish I had time to do a video of some tests, but realistically that's not going to happen.

Actually that one is great light! The camera just doesn't like LEDs. It's nice to have the light from many directions too as it prevents shadows.
All interior and dash(instrument) light sets for the XJ and ZJ are available.
I get asked about install writeups and videos, so if anyone does that, let me know. Well, if you're like really cheap and/or really bored, let me know. This is a hobby and so far, it's only paid for some test equipment, tools, and more lights.
In one of my dreams, I sell enough light sets to have my bent hood, dented/broken cowl, and rusted rear door fixed! I wake up at the part where the Jeep is getting painted.
Interior light set prices are increasing in the next week / weeks. Other light sets are expected to see price increases later.
I want to make sure everyone here gets a heads-up. I would never have done this without early support from forum members. When I though about quitting, the positive feedback here kept me going.
After three years of development, the interior light sets are everything I would expect of a product from a 'professional' company.
The increase in price will help fund product development and give me more leverage to do business-y things - like form relationships with people that are much better than me at presentation / marketing / sells, etc.
Oh, and it would be pretty cool to have a few extra bucks to throw at the XJ.
As always, anyone that got lights from me and has a problem with them should contact me for replacements - that applies back to the very first sets in early 2014.
Thanks always,
Jason / Snajo / Akasnajo

Replaced the interior lights on the new to us 2000 Limited. Very happy with the interior lighting with the change over to LEDs.
Dealing with Jason has been great. Quick shipping, neatly packaged, installation instructions and quality lights.

Thanks for the words!
If you'd be interested in testing some potential JK lights, let me know. It's just the cargo light and the two main front lights, but it should have about the same effect as the XJ lights aside from floor wells. Floor well lights may come later, but I suspect some design work will be required - and they won't be plug-and-play.
That looks really nice. They have a slight blue tint though right or is it just the picture? Also my visors have the dimmable switch. Will these still work for that?
Hey that's my jeep! The lights are whiter than they appear in the picture. An ever so slightly blue hue to them, but that's fine with me since my jeep is gunmetal pearl. I've had the lights for about a year now, still bright as ever. I know everyone says the visor LEDs aren't dimmable, but mine actually dim a considerable amount with the dimmer switch. Maybe I just got lucky. Probably order an instrument/gauge cluster set of LEDs soon. Keep up the good work Snajo.

Glad to hear they are still working!
If there is a blue tint, it's slight. Some of the older sets had mismatched floor well lights, but otherwise they have been close to neutral white for some time.
If a person takes a white piece of paper of holds it under a light, the paper should appear nearly pure white.
I claim dimming won't work, but it honestly just doesn't work as well as with the stock bulbs.
