I still have them in there until I get something else, but half are out already in less than a year.

you must have bad luck or something. Mine fit right, lit up great and even, none have burnt out, and I sold my last set to a friend and as far as I know they're still working in his jeep.

Although I didn't have super bright LEDs I just got whatever was cheapest on Amazon.

I've had hit and miss experiences everywhere I've bought LEDs. After doing interiors for XJs, ZJs, WJs, & TJs as well as instruments for old and new XJs and TJs I'd say autoillumination and superbright are better quality-wise than the average ebay light. Ebay is crap shoot with LEDs. There are some good quality vendors, but it's hard to pick them out.

I've have problems with small lights only lasting 6 - 18 months (dash LEDs specifically) from superbright and autoillumination, but everything else has been very solid. Amazon is a good choice when reviews are available.

The best quality is probably PUTCO. There's a definite cost to using American labor.

Anybody know why my front dome led has quit working? It'll flash and strive or just won't come on

The first large batch of lights ordered last spring was a best-effort at the time.

The dome and cargo lights in the 84-97 XJ and the dome light in the 98-01 XJ (+all ZJ) are set to be replaced by an improved light this summer. The current light was a good start, but after 9 months it is showing some life span issues.

The map lamps (98-01 XJ + all ZJ) were replaced in December. They should last a good long time.

Visor lamps are going to be ordered in the next couple weeks. They will be a higher quality version, although the current ones are good enough. Most people don't use them enough for it to be an issue.

Floor well lights are doing pretty well. Currently there is stock for nearly 600 sets (97-01XJ + allZJ), so they won't be changed anytime soon.

Cargo lamp (97-01XJ + allZJ) and OHC lamp (97-01 XJ + allZJ) have a very good track record. They may be changed in the future if a more compelling light becomes available, but they seem to work very well.

WJ lights are all good quality. There are issues with some WJs having glowing lights (engine running, lamps turned off) and/or dim lights (engine off, single lamp turned on). A load resistor may help, but there isn't a WJ available with this problem to test/troubleshoot.

Instrument lights (84-01XJ) are available. They aren't advertised much... photos are lacking for all years and the older sets are limited in availability. Quality of all these lights is good.

The 97-01 set is good except for the climate control module. Climate control lighting is uneven and the red side of the panel doesn't light, but it is a big improvement over stock. A second version of this set may be available at some point to improve the climate control lighting. Parts for 30 sets have been ordered, but it will be a slow process to assemble them into something that works, especially at first. The twist lights for the 97-01 rocker switches and climate control are a new part and while they put up with a lot of abuse on the bench, only time will tell how they do in the wild. These lights are the reason these sets haven't been available for so long.

Let me know if you need a 97+ cluster/switch/shifter set tested, or when you have a whole set ready to go I'll buy one depending what price point you're looking at.

I need someone to test and photograph any of the following light sets:

97-01 Instrument Set (White and/or Green)
84-96 Instrument Set (Green and/or Blue)
*Cluster must have tach and speedo
*97-01 Climate control will be dimmer than in the photo

Some photo skills are required. The blue 00XJ photo was made with an iphone using the camera+ app. The 06TJ cluster pic was made with a cell phone... not sure about the 96XJ, but probably also a cell phone.

TJ sets are also available if you want to test them, but you'll need to tell me how many lights you need of each type (cluster, climate control/ rocker switch, and trans/trans bezel).

For testing, the lights are sold at full price and refunded in exchange for images. That's a starting point... for good quality and multiple angles, (especially if I don't have to edit later) a better deal is possible.

Okay Quality (the blue is haloed a bit more than I'd like, but its passable)

Okay Quality (cluster is a bit dirty / smudged... probably okay if taken farther back)

Excellent quality:

I got a 93 xj of that works. So basically what ur assaying is that, we buy the lights, send you good quality photos of several angles, and we get fully refunded and get to keep the lights?

Yep. One good shot like the 96 in the picture I posted would satisfy me. Two or three shots would be nice though. If you are interested in trying a couple colors... or want white, but want to consider blue or green, let me know. I'll do my best to make it worth the trouble.

The 84-96XJ sets are $30, while the 97-01 are $15. The newer XJs use smaller lights and less of them.

I don't mind getting pics of several colors, I can get as many pics as you want. I'd prefer white but will do blue and green as well, I can get pics of all if needed.

I can test white and green for 97-01 if you want. I've swapped a few times. Had blue and have lime green right now.
Edit: didn't read the whole post, for 97-01 Is it gauges and climate control? I've climate control with my blue and lime green ones.

I haven't installed all of the lights yet, but they came very professionally wrapped, high quality bulbs from the looks of it and came very quickly.

Tried a white kit and a green kit today! Both were great, high quality and professionally packaged! Interior LED Sets-image-1209270699.jpg
