Count me in. I hate drums and I think mine are on their way out. x2 on the which year Liberty e-brake. If there is a part number known that would be even better.
My kit is waiting for me at my mail drop, should be picking it up today. Still have to buy the rotors and soft parts. My drums are definitely on their way out, linings are very thin. I have to wait though for the heat wave to subside and need to fix some issues on my usual daily driver before I can lay up the XJ to do the work.
Also I highly recommend the brake hose brackets made by 1991Jeep_Man. He sent me a set to check fitment on the Chrysler 8.25 axle. It just needed a little minor modification (elongating one mounting hole by 1/16") and it bolts right on. Looks like it's going to make dealing with the brake hoses a lot easier. (I don't have the hoses yet but inserted the mounting bold to check for clearance.)

David I have a question...about the parking brake cable...you stated it came from a liberty for the passenger side...well I ordered one for a 2002 liberty. It is clearly the wrong one. Is there a specific year I need to be looking for?
There is a parts number floating around out there but not sure what it is.
I reused my stock cables.
I highly recommend getting it locally so that you can match up the new passenger side cable to the one I include in the kit.

I did buy local, but they still had to order it...not a frequently used item, so not in stock. Once it came in, it was obvious it was not the right one, as it looked almost exactly like my old stocker...difference is in the termination, on the disc brake parking portion...one is more like a bicycle cable, where one is a loop. I need the one with the loop.
What I got from that was to not use a liberty cable at all, but a ZJ one instead...or crimp something...

Thanks. Just referenced that PN...it is indeed different from the 2002, and the 02 is listed as working for both left and right, the 04 has two different PN's for left and right...
I finally had a chance to go through the kit, it really is nice and is going to save a lot of time and aggravation. The parts are much cleaner than anything I could have found here in the rust belt, they just need a little light cleanup, maybe paint if I want to get fancy.
Doing some shopping around I found that Rockauto had the best pricing on the rest of the parts needed among the vendors I checked. New rotors, brake pads, parking brake shoes and hardware kit, new hoses (including the XJ hose to the rear axle), caliper guide pins and boots, and axle grease seals are on order.
For now I'm planning to see if the original parking brake cables can be used, clamped down around the parking brake lever as I've seen done in some of the online articles and videos on the disc conversion. (If that doesn't work out will have to look at cable replacement.)
I'll have to check the calipers to see how serviceable they are. Given the spotty quality of many rebuilds, if they're not stuck or leaking I'll probably use them. If they need replacement I'd rather buy locally in case there are problems, plus shipping cores to an online vendor is a pain.
