crawler487--that's good info to know. And it looks like you have a 1989 XJ, just like me. So now I'm wondering what I'm gonna find when I open it up.

Any way to know whether it is a C clip axle or not other than opening it up?

Pull the wheel & drum off. If there is a hole in the axle flange, that's a indicator. It's there to access the bolts that hold in the axle.

Not sure if you are aware but both will need to be modded to fit either axle. The 8.25 will be the easiest.
Still interested? I can try to get them for you this Friday or next Friday if you are not in a hurry.

Only thing you have to do is open up the center hole a small amount. This way it will slid over the larger diameter 8.25 axle tube.

As for the 44, rear this.

I have 2 kits boxed & ready to ship. Both have pads that are in great shape, one set looks like new. The price is still $170 shipped to you.

Still have these kicking around? I'll take a kit, just got my donor 8.25 wire brushed and ready for paint, now its time for some upgraded parts!

Yes, but on the 8.25 you will need to Dremel the center about 1/8 inch for it to slip over the larger axle tube.
