Hey Big David!

Any kits available at the moment?

If not, and you don't mind me asking, do you have to open up the diff and remove the axle when you go to the pick n pull? thinking about going and getting the parts myself, but want to make sure i have the right tools and method going in.

Thanks!

Yes you do. You can't remove the backing plate with the axle shafts in place.

Hello, I am helping a friend with a 99 XJ limited with the Dana 35 and ABS. Is there really anything terribly different in doing a conversion on this one compared to an 8.25? He had one of those previously and I was all lined up to help him change everything when he totaled it, thus fixing the problem in a crash that probably would not have happened if we had done the conversion... Anywhow, I was planning on using the KJ backing plates, but considering I am going from a 35 to a 35 should I just use the D35 backing plates off the ZJ? I did read that for the ABS I needed the proportioning valve spring from the ZJ, but that is about all I could find on anything ABS related.

I’d use the ZJ plates & sell the KJ plates to someone with a 8.25 or 44.
100% bolt on & yes, I’d grab a ZJ proportioning valve just to be sure.

Sorry about your friends ZJ.

I was able to go today and get two sets of KJ backing plate’s/calipers & one set of ZJ plates/calipers, a drivers side e brake cable and a proportioning valve. I could not get lug studs.

I found another proportioning valve if anyone who buys a KJ kit is interested.

I will accept PayPal as long as you gift it due to their new 1099 policy or a money order or check.

$225 for each kit.

Hey Dave, I just created an account on this forum and created one specifically because of this thread. I have an 88 with a Dana 44 c clip, I want to purchase a complete kit to swap out my drums since my cylinders are going out. Is the KJ kit direct bolt on like the ZJ? Or what do I need to do? I’m ready to purchase but I can’t PM you since I’m a new member. Let me know thank you!

A Dana 44 that is a C clip axle??? You sure?

Anyway, one the very first page of this thread is a video explaining the particulars of a disc conversion on a 44.

Sorry I meant to say non c clip lol. Anyways do you have any kits for sale? I can find the rotors and pads new but I’m just looking for everything else I need to bolt it on. I don’t mind not having the parking brake since it’s an auto, I don’t ever use it for all the massive hills in FL lol.
