99 XJ 5-speed, Portland, OR. 152k. $2300
So I am going to do the reverse of what everyone else does. I am going list the stats, then needs, then the good stuff. Isn't that what you are really looking at anyways? First things first. This vehicle has RUST. It was originally a New Hampshire vehicle = snow = salt = rust. Onward:

As you can see, I have done a lot to this car since its purchase in 2011. My policy has always been that if you replace it, upgrade it, hence many of the upgrades. Much of this work was done in preparation for our move to Oregon from Connecticut. Most items were replaced despite working perfectly well upon purchase. I was just going for over kill and confidence in my vehicle. This Jeep towed our pop up camper for 3,300 miles like a champ. All of the upgrades were perfect for such a long tow over such steep terrain as the Rockies. This jeep pulls hard!
I searched for a long time to find a 5 speed XJ and had to go all the way to New Hampshire from Connecticut to find it. The only major problem with this Jeep, as with any truck from the north east, is rust. There is significant rust on rocker panel and on the undercarriage. Nothing functional is effected, its all cosmetic stuff. The rear passenger spring also needs replacement. 4wd worked amazing this last winter snow. There is a little clunking coming out from the worn transmission mount. There are also other little things that are just easier to discuss in person or on the phone.
As it stands, this Jeep will start and run forever. If you dont mind your car looking a little beat up, this is a great car for you. Practical and cheap repairs that could be done sooner then later would be the transmission mount, the oil filter housing gasket, and speedometer gear gasket. I have a mobile mechanic that I have used for several repairs who quoted me $150 in labor.
Okay, this is long enough! Email or PM me for more info!
Pictures are not uploading for me (and I have lots of them), so I have included a CL link. Hopefully this is acceptable.
