Brand new they will give up to 1.5" and since the last ones came out in 98 they are far from new and most likely sagging a bit plus the weight of the bumper he'll be lucky to get an inch.

Op take a search around and you'll see for yourself that the zj v8 coils will give you 1.5" some have even gotten 2" just depends on the condition. Got to remember these coils had a heavier spring rate to hold up the heavy v8 so its not going to sag heavily with a 50lb bumper and our lighter 4.0l

I wish him the best of luck. I also have used these on a build because I had them laying around from another build. I barely got an inch with the set I used out of a 96. Funny how lift companies give you one spring for the 4L and add a .75" spacer for the V8 with the same sping. The jeep mine came off of did have over 150k on it which would make a difference but you'd be lucky to find one with less.

You sure you had the actual spring from the V8 gc? And maybe someone else had replaced the stock with a regular Cherokee spring? Every gc I've seen in the junk yard and street never had a spacer added, unless your talking about the isolator in which the Cherokee has that too.. The v8 had a different spring, they were not the same. And miles isn't really a factor on the coils, mine came from one that had 237,000 miles on it. The only real thing that will shorten a coils life is how it was used like off roading.

I had some coils out of a V8 ZJ upcountry. Ended up putting them on a friends XJ, and he got 1.5" of lift out of them. Less than that once he put the winch bumper on it.

I know this more than most probably because mine came with the upcountry package. I've looked all around and everyone sits stock at 17" from middle of wheel to under the fender. Mine was sitting at 18", I placed a v8 zj spring and I went to 18.5" added a spacer after a month and I was at 3" with the distance being 20" from center of wheel to fender flare

V8 springs are stiff even with a medium weight bumper of 50lbs.
