ZJ steering wheel in XJ?
Will a later ('97-'98) ZJ 3-spoke steering wheel fit a 2001 XJ? Has anyone actually done this? If the wheel fits the column, does the clockspring plug and play with the XJ column?
Thanks for any help.

Yes and no.
The wheel fits. The clock spring has to be repinned and modified slightly-cut or gring off a few areas of the plastic.
For better details, PM my son here, bpas328xi.

This should help. Was considering doing this. Still might.

You can most certainly put a WJ steering wheel into an XJ. I believe any steering wheel from 94-04 will work, no need to mess with different clock springs or anything like that. The only modifications you will have to do is if your XJ has cruise, you will have to solder in the XJ cruise button connector onto the WJ steering wheel cruise wiring, and you will have to splice the horn wire from the XJ into the WJ horn wire. I just put a 2004 Grand Cherokee Overland steering wheel in and it went in with no problems. I reused the factory XJ clock spring and did what I stated above. Can post pictures if you need me to.
