Yeah the plugs/wires are all the same, you just need to clearance the bracked for the physically larger alternator and possibly change the pulley. Upgrading the main B+ cable wouldn't hurt things either, since your in there.

What year?
The ZJ/WJ/WK uses a Nippondenso alternator. The 1991-up XJ uses a Nippondenso alternator.
The 1984-1986 uses a Delco 10SI or 12SI, and the 1987-1990 uses a Delco CS121 or CS130. These are internally regulated, and the Nippondenso is not a direct swap - you'll have to wire in a voltage regulator as well. Easier to upwind a Delco and drop it in instead.
If you have a Nippondenso and replace it with a higher-current unit, you may find you have a seven-groove pully instead of a six-groove. No need to change it - just seat the belt against the rear flange of the pully, and leave the outermost groove open. The pullys should be the same diameter, so that's not an issue.

All the was needed for me to swap mine in my 1995 is some grinding on the bracket, as said before about 1/4 " and it's almost all in one spot. I got one from PNP, almost 9 months ago I think, from a wrecked ZJ and still going.

No. Not directly.
As I've explained elsewhere, the XJ used a Delco alternator through MY1991 - MY1991 and up got the Nippondenso alternator. All 1991-up Jeeps got the Nippondenso alternator (except for some V8 WJs, which got a similar Bosch.)
The Delco used in the XJ and MJ was internally regulated, the ND is externally regulated.
The good news? It's easy enough to hit 140A in a Delco CS-130, just look for a high-end GM passenger car of similar vintage (Cadillac, or BOP with "all the fruit,") and grab the alternator. Test it, swap the front half of the case, and throw it in - you're off to the races!
If you were going to try to use the ND alternator in place of the Delco, you must install an external voltage regulator (and I'm unsure of whether or not it will mount up using existing bracketry anyhow.)
