wow that really does help, thanks again man. wiring this should be simple now. though I'm sure I've got it figured out already. I just need a new alternator. and to find out what the smoke/smell is lol

 

I don't mean to double post. but i want to clarify, that tutorial in the writ up section has the right voltage regulator. in a sudden spike of frustration, i decided to connect it just to see what happens. and it works great. the tan wire appears useless currently. though I DO need a new alternator(drops down to 10v with everything on, and no aftermarket equipment) it does provide a very accurate reading. so, I guess I'm sorry for being **** about the stock wiring. thanks guys for helpin' me out.
