Default Yakima Gutter Rack Question

Picked up a rain gutter rack today but the cross bars are 48" and I need 58" I believe. Anyone have experience with just going to Home Depot and getting some 1" steel pipe? From what I can tell, the OD is 1 1/8", so My thought is to wrap a few layers of electrical tape where the bar mount is.
Thoughts?

Are you sure you need 58"? I would double check that, because from my memory the factory roof rack thing is around 48" so your yakima cant be that far off

I've used 1" conduit with success. No tape needed.

Did you attach to the gutter itself or leave the trim on? My trim is super wobbly but I want to make sure the actual fixtures will be secure on the bare gutters.

Yea the 48" was way short. Got some 1" conduit and cut it down to size.

I left the trim on. It doesn't interfere with the gutter mounts if installed correctly. Won't hurt anything to remove the trim either.
