Any one else have a xj with a v8. If so would love to hear what you have done or doing. Problems you have run into ,solutions you have come up with.

 

Common V8 swaps are Chevy 350 or LS/LT motors, then you have your dodge Magnum series engines or a hemi. Then you have the Lexus 1uz swap. After that there are diesel v8 swaps. You can swap in just about anything but only the popular stuff is gonna bolt on.

 

I have a 327 sbc in my xj. Was just wondering who else has one. Because I haven't seen any threads on it. Jw

is a vortec out of an avalanche worth the swap? i have one in a scrap truck at the yard that i can pull for free... or should i just wait for an LQ4 or LS?

 

a 5.3 will be just fine, they range from 285hp-315hp/330tq for the smaller v8s id say thats plenty for an xj
