XJ "T" handle to WJ shifter
This technically could be called "Fabrication" since I used a angle grinder.
I've been waiting to get rid of the old "T" shifter for a while.
I finally got a WJ shifter & modded it to work on my '98 XJ. I've been having a problem removing my key. I had to push the button on the shifter in to turn the key back to remove it. Not any more, this fixed it also.
The XJ is notorious for the back up lights not working. The O/D button on the side can be used for them or in configuration with a push button start mod. I plan to run the wires on the front side of the shifter & use 'E tape to secure the wire. I think it matches the T-case handle pretty good.
I cut off some of the metal rod that came with the shifter. Took about 30 minutes of trial & error.
