Xj help
Hey everyone im new here and just need some quick help. I have a 97 cherokee that was already lifted when i bought it. I was told it was 5.5 inches of lift. The rear sits at 6inches and tbe front is about 4.5 to 5 inches. I was told the front is ford truck springs with 2 inch blocks. I was thinking of going with RE 4.5 springs in the front because i read they will put me at 6 inches. Would i also need to change steering parts too like drop pitman arm and such? Also the heat works but only comes out the defrosters. Im thinking a vaccuum leak? Anyoone else have this problem?

RE 4.5" lift spring will lift 4.5" if the springs are intended for an XJ. Now with a 6" front lift you will need Adjustable trackbar, Upper and lower control arms, shocks, swaybar extensions, longer brakelines to start. You probably already need a SYE and longer lines in the rear.

I read that the RE springs will give more because they are zj springs and the xj is lighter thats why i was considering them...not sure if the rear needs anything it has a swapped ford 8.8 in it already and everything seems good in the back just the front sits a little lower.

With the heat only coming out the defrost it's most likely a vacuum leak. Check the lines running from the black vacuum ball behind the front right part of bumper all the way along firewall for cracks.

What has been/is going to be done to front end to get it ready for all that lift? Adj. track bar, control arms, sway bar links, brake lines, bump stops, poss. drop pitman arm?
Get rid of the blocks.. Which are spacers in the front, blocks are for leaf springs.. Find some coils that will put you at whatever height you want and make sure to consider a long arm conversion. They are kinda expensive, but at 4.5+ inches the ride is going to be pretty harsh and your geometry is going to suck for off-roading. Like it will literally work against itself at that height/angle.. Going over 3-3.5" gets way more involved and expensive. You can do it cheap, too, but it might not be safe and it will ride like a tank.
