Default XJ Full Exhaust Swap

So my 96 4.0 HO needs exhaust work bad! The header seems to be cracked and the cat is completely shot! I would like to do a full performance exhaust and an intake.

What companies/vendors/brands is everyone using here?

this is from JPmagazine 2009

"Header/Manifold Crack Issues
Myth: All 4.0Ls will crack the factory tubular exhaust manifold at the collector. The extra air getting to the O2 sensor will make the Jeep run rich, foul cat, and run like crap. The fix is to add an aftermarket header for more power, durability, and longevity.
Our Thoughts: We agree with the above. The exhaust system of a 4.0L Jeep has to deal with very high temperatures due to the 4.0L's lean air/fuel calibration that, when coupled with a long and inflexible intermediate tube that leverages the tubular header, is a perfect recipe for cracking. In fact, even some aftermarket steel and stainless steel headers may not prove immune.
Claimed Gains: 5-10hp and long-life
Actual Gains: 5-10hp and long-life
Notes: Despite its fairly efficient design, you will notice a seat-of-the-pants improvement with an aftermarket header when used in conjunction with an after-cat exhaust and a cold air intake. Just buy the header with the thickest gauge tubing you can"

after reading that, down the road I'm just going to get an APN header as I've read good reviews and the price is right

then do some custom 2.5" exhaust tube later with whatever CA legal cat I can find
and if one day I'm feeling saucy, I'm for sure ordering one of these http://www.quadratec.com/products/17006_7101_07.htm

mine needs the same thing. my plan was to use an obx header, high flow 2.5" cat and find an aftermarket 2.5" muffler/tailpipe combo. while swapping to a 01 intake manifold and making my own cold/ram air intake. my cat is literally falling apart and the manifold is definitely cracked. the rest of the exhaust looks factory stock, it comes complete with a ton of rust, holes, and plenty of leaks.

Thanks I've never seen an intake like that. Are they proven to work better there standard cone style filter?

I have that intake too. It's neat. If you check summitracing you might be able to get it for cheaper. Mine was like 100ish shipped because of some special they were running.

They're proven to keep dirt and mud out of your intake. Which is why I want it. But since you are pulling air from outside the engine bay (like a snorkel would) it is a true cold air intake. So technically it should work better than just a cone or some other gimmick "cold air" intake

Rear breather stays put. Front breather gets attached to the intake.

I'm about to order the APN Header from ineedparts.com

Is there anything else I should be throwing in on the order while I'm there? Like injectors or the exhaust flex pipe? If so what model/part numbers should I be getting?

I have a 1996 4.0 HO and I have a 99 intake manifold coming
