Default Wobble problems.

I just finished installing a rough country 6.5" lift on my xj. It had a rc 4.5" lift on it before. I'm getting a bad wobble about 45 mph. If I speed past 45 to 50 it quits. I have double checked all my nuts and bolts and all where tight.

Could this be what's called (death wobble ) or is something not lined up right. I'm going in the morning for an alingment.

I would say its not death wobble. you wouldnt be able to speed out of it.. when you get deathwobble it will stop you in your tracks. Deathwobble has thrown me off the freeway before it was so bad.. you know you have death wobble if you say to yourself... "wow I cant believe I still have a clean pair of shorts after that". It could be beginning stages I guess though. I would have someone come over and turn the wheel while you check all steering and suspension components in the front for play.

I had my girlfriend turn the wheel back a forth while I checked everything to make sure it was tight in the steering and everything looked good.

I'm go right now to get an alignment and then I'm going to order dual steer shocks.

You can indeed drive out of DW. Stopping isn't the only way to make it quit, its just the best and safest way.

You should really get an alignment.

Well I still have a little bit of wobble left but it's livable. Going to check all my tie rod ends and ball joints to make sure none have any play in them

The alignment and rotating the tires fixed 95% of it tho.

ahhh. i stand corrected.. sorry for the misinformation.

however when my DW hit it was always at like 60-70... there is no way in hell I would attempt to drive out of that.. lol. stopping and getting over off the road was/is the safest scenario.
