wj brake/knuckle steering ?

just saw a picture that had me thinking of this a little differently
Can you run WJ knuckles on an xj with nothing else changed other than steering, as to choose modifying the steering and knuckle only if one chooses?
im wondering if the knuckle spacer is just for the wj brakes to be fitted on the xj.

Engine: 4.3L with headers and full 3" exhaust system
The WJ brakes have a radial mount and the XJ brakes have one that was used for years. The calipers are not interchangeable.
