Perhaps a new motor, I'm sure the old one is worn pretty well. I don't know how many volts its supposed to have but I would assume 12v, you could check to see if its getting enough.

i am running a motor off a 93-98 grand cherokee, the only difference is when you are using the delay settings, it wipes on high speed instead of using low speed. i think it is much better that way.

Motor upgrade? Not really. Too slow? Sloppy? What's the issue?
The ground wire for the wiper motor attaches on the driver's side inner fender under a sheet metal screw. Is the screw tight? Bare metal under teh connector?

That dry arizona sun will be tough on any wipers.. I got my rain-x blades about 2-3 years ago and they're still working pretty good. The best part about the latitudes is that the rubber never comes off the blade like in the other kinds. With that dry heat some kind of rubber treater would probably let them last a good while.

My rain x latitudes only lasted me 6 months in NY. I used to swear by them. I recently started using Bosch Evolution. They are equal to latitudes, to me at least. But cost half as much.
