I couldn't find anything on here about it so I was going to see if anyone has done it.
I have my 89 XJ.
Well almost 6 months ago all of my window motors went out. I checked voltage and made sure it was the motors.
I found a 4 door XJ in a junk yard close by that has 4 manual door cranks and door internals.
Has anyone swapped out the electric windows for manual windows?
I see my door has the holes cu out for the manual crank holes but didn't know if the mounting would mess it up?

should work i have 94 xj window guts in my 89 only difference one was rivited other was bolted

94 must be popular for parts. I have a 94 H.O. motor and front and rear axles in my 89.

I appreciate it i'm swapping them tomorrow.

 

Here's a easy tip for anyone looking for JY window motors.I had to change a couple of motors in my '95 mostly because it was a south Florida car and all the grease had dried out in them. So I take my 12v cordless drill with because you don't know if the window motors and tracks are bolted in or pop rivited in.I cut the window harness strip the wire to the motor and touch them to the drills battery.That way I know if the motor is even good before I go to the work of removing it.
