Will 15" rims clear my calipers?
It may seem like a silly question, but it was brought to my attention that 15 inch rims may not clear my brake calipers. Has 16's now with no problems. It didn't cross my mind, because I know of people running them on Cherokee's. But... maybe there is something I'm missing. Will I have to do anything special to run 15's on my '01? Any help is appreciated.

It depends on the back spacing but, from what I've heard 15 inch aluminum wheels can fit with grinding on the caliper and steel wheels should fit with no mods, but I don't have any first hand experience with the swap.

All years of XJ use the same rotor diameter (280mm) and the same brake pads.
'89-'01 uses the same brake calipers also.
15 inch wheels will fit on any XJ with the factory brakes on it.

Thank you. That was exactly the information I was looking for. I had the understanding that earlier models came stock with 15 inch wheels, so I wasn't sure if the rotor size changed when they switched to 16 inch wheels.
