Default WIDE??

My 1994 xj is almost ready for the street, have some concerns thou! Im doing a rc 3inch lift (came in a box with the jeep purchase), have 15x8 pro-comp d windows with 3.75 bs, have seen pics of what other people have in this combination, but they all look different, tire to fender gap, tire/wheel combo width. was hoping to be able to see a pic or two of an actual 3 inch lift, with 31's and similar back spacing, and that combo parked next to a stocker, just dont want to set myself up for dissapointment with the end result!!

Having that exact picture is a stretch. Just do it - you won't be disappointed
If you are running stock flares, they will stick out. Are you worried about them sticking out too little or too much?

Yea, stock flares for now, wish someone made a glass flared fender or a jk similar steele tube fender or flare! If anyone is out there, i would settle for a 3inch/31 lift pic vs a stock. A little somewhat unsure of the 3 and 31 combo, i went to the store in my marauder, parked next to a 98'ish xj with 31's on it at stock height,they filled up the gaps, but it got me wondering is all!

i hear better things about a 4-4.5 inch lift. i would probably mean less trimming, and from what i hear, there is alot more off road capability. idk if it would be a long-arm 4.5 that was being referenced, but either way, food for thought!

Thanks for the pic black, it helps, ive seen so many pics where someone has it listed as a "3" inch lift, but then they say its actually 4.5,5.5 and so on! Where i live, everyone has around 5.5 and 6 inch, never seen a xj in person @ 3/3.5, was just wondering if it was worth the work and effort to for 3 inches?? What were the other tires you were running, im assuming more lift for those swampers??

3" lift= 31x10.5's no problem
3" lift with fensers removed and trimmed= 33x12.5
5.5"= 35x15's!

I have a RE3.5" lift with 33x10.50x15 w/3.75 BS xtream alloys. Your right I got 4.5" from it. The tires stick out about 1" or so from stock flares. Don't know if you can see it in the picture.

Excuse me Garb for chimming in; but i'm in the same boat with deciding between Iron Rocks' 3" or 4" lift.

My ? is do all or most companies who advertise 3 lift really mean 4?? Or is that once everything settles it will be at the addvertized height?

I know that RE is more than they say but what about RC,IRO or Rustys. Are all these as addvertized?
thanks.

My neighbor used a RC 3" kit with AAL on brand new stock rear leafs. 31x10.50x15 GoodYears 3.75 BS wheels. It looks OK but hits Front and Rear on any decent size bump. DD only. Wishes he went with something else. Not enough lift. settled real quick. The RE 3.5 kit gives you 4.5-5" with full leaf packs. Not cheep but it does the job. 33s no problem.
