Default This is why you dont use aluminum lift blocks.

A few months ago i bought a 87 XJ from a buddy of mine, a few years back he lifted it and used 2" aluminum lift blocks in the rear. Once i got it driving again i noticed a lot of vibration in the rear end. My pinion angle was about 16 degrees off from my t-case. Upon investigating i pulled off the blocks and found them a bit smashed with the center pin seared off.

Torque the u-bolts and that shouldn't be a problem. That being said, any block is the devil.

Galvanic reaction?

Torquing the u-bolts won't help if that's the problem.

I don't think that will be a problem, both blocks were nearly identical and they were resting even against the leafs, it was the pinion that was rotated up.
Either way i plan on replacing the springs within the next year anyway and going up to 4.5".
