Why doesn't this product exist?
Forum member mschi772 started a great thread about the technical aspects of headlights. Given all of the confusion and misinformation tied to that topic, I appreciate him taking the time to post so much info.

Somewhat tied to the thrust of that thread...
Why doesn't anyone make LED light bars and pods that are in the 4300K-4500K color temperature range? I.E with a neutral tint, instead of that blueish tint. I have a 15" bar and 5 pods, and while they work, their CRI (Color Rendering Index) sucks, and they don't match my headlights at all.
There's no technical hurdles to making LED light products with better emitters instead of the dirt-cheap 6000K-6500K units that pretty well all of them are now made with. Those neutral LEDs can costs a tad more, but not more than probably $1 per emitter. I'd gladly pay a $10 premium on pods and a $1 per LED premium on light bars to get better light.
If any of you know of a vendor who sells LED lights in a better tint, or if any of you light vendors would be willing to work with your suppliers to create one, I'd appreciate knowing about it.

That's because you are not blinded by them. I don't mind the brand new cars that have them. They seem to be very mild but most of the ricers around here are very annoying.

I don't drive around blinding traffic with my 20" and pods... That's like 12000 lumens.. Like 5x brights.. Besides that, I have stood in front of my jeep with my bars and led headlights on.. Not that blue and my headlights are aimed correctly so I blind nobody.

My mistake. I thought you were talking about your headlights had a blue tint. Around here I would not run factory fog lights let alone a light bar. I try not to give the cops any reason to pull me over.

Cops pull you over for blinding oncoming traffic? Not that I've seen.
I drive Transport truck and I find the cops are sometimes the worst offenders!

I was driving home from work one night and someone was behind me with there light bar on so I slowed down to let them catch up to see what the D-bag was driving. Turned out it was a SUV state trooper. Maybe he was looking for someone or something.

Good article. I believe some colors depend on the gas inside the light as well (Krypton, etc). I also think if you are color blind, you may not see the same color / tone others will.
Personally, I've never been blinded by a headlight with a bluish tint, unless maybe it was on high beam, but that happens with any headlight. So they don't bother me (I don't have a set myself).
Just my 2-cents.:-)
