No the whole system from manifold to tailpipe has been upgraded

I think the magnaflow sounds like the stock muffler.Get a Flowmaster 40.like me

I agree, I've got a flowmaster 44, fully upgraded 2.5" exhaust and it friggin roars over 3k rpm

My rig is too loud. Will be switching muffler to Walker Quiet-Flow. Supposed to bring it back to stock levels.
Currently 2.5" with Magnaflow

Really ? I don't think my magnaflow catback sounds stock.

I recorded mine also

I recorded my Magnaflow to compare with the Flowmaster I am going to swap it out for. I had the mic sitting close to the exhaust like you did and it didn't sound to bad. Reving it up it had that good gurgle but we don't drive around doing that. At a steady rpm of 2500 or so it did not sound nearly as beefy which is where we are driving at a lot of the time.

I am going to take another recording from 15-20 feet away which is much more realistic of the sound one hears as opposed to right down there on the exhaust. I'll post these as soon as I get them together.
