Default Who Can Help With Some Info.....Opine ?

I have looked at the video several times that shows the Volvo (G-80/gov-loc) locker installed in a '99 high pinion axle in a Cherokee.

My question is this. After giving this much thought I started wondering, Why wouldn't this also work in a low pinion Dana 30 ?

The ring and pinion are compatible since you re-use the jeep ring gear. The locker turns the same way in either axle.

Can anyone shed some light on this ? How about some "lite" opinion...???

Thanks,

Dan

Regardless, you are still driving the weaker side of the ring gear in a LP d30. Change it out now or just wait for it to fail.

It'll work just fine. Did someone tell you it wouldn't?

Standard cut R&P are just plain weaker when driven in reverse (like a front axle) anyway. Putting a limited slip in won't change that.
